I have been busy- lots of customer quilts and I even managed to get a couple of my own done. One was from swap blocks and was donated to the local animal shelter's annual raffle.
I also finished my class sample from last winter's quilt class. I'm glad I took pictures because I sold it about a week after I finished it.
OK, I admit it I like LOTS of quilting on a quilt. I like the way it looks and I like doing it. But I would hate to have to pay me for my quilting!
I shared a booth at the Blueberry Festival with my friend Sarah (Downeast Quilting & Interiors). I sold two quilts! And handed out LOTS of information. Somehow it takes a month to prepare and 2 weeks to recover from a 2-day fair. I don't know how Bonnie and Judy do it- Trunk shows, lectures, classes, Oh My!
I have decided in all this chaos that I need to put aside more time for my own sewing. I needed some hand work to do and wanted to work on an applique BOM, but needed to piece the basket blocks. Once I sat down to sew it went quickly and came out really well and felt so good. It seems like ages since I have done any piecing.
I also need to get better at keeping up with this blog. Almost 3 months between posts is awful. So- my To do list for today:
- Finish the quilt on the Machine
- Call to confirm about teaching at adult ed
- Cut out Judy's BOM block #1
- Load another customer quilt
That's not much of a list, but I'm gonna start small and see how I do.
Tell me where to get more wax!
